The Role

We are seeking an Account Director to manage some of our largest central government accounts. This is a strategic role with full ownership of designated accounts, focusing on customer satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth. You will work closely with our Central Government Account Lead who will act as a mentor, but you will have full autonomy in managing your accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute account plans for assigned central government departments/agencies.

  • Build and maintain strong, commercially focused relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Drive customer satisfaction and engagement, ensuring that clients maximise the value from our platform.

  • Identify and deliver upsell and cross-sell opportunities, maximising revenue growth within your accounts.

  • Minimise churn risk through proactive engagement and problem-solving.

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, including Product, Customer Success, and Marketing, to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Provide strategic insights on public sector trends and customer needs to inform future product development.

  • Ensure all activity aligns with Matrix Booking’s values as a B Corp and employee-owned business.

Mandatory Qualifications & Skills

  • 3+ years of account management experience, ideally within SaaS, workplace technology, or a related field.

  • Experience working with public sector/central government clients.

  • Proven track record in account farming, customer growth, and revenue retention.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with a strategic and commercial mindset.

  • Ability to own and drive an account strategy independently.

  • A passion for client success and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Familiarity with public sector procurement processes.

  • Understanding of government workplace strategies and facilities management.
